WARSAW, Poland: The town of Glogowek in southwestern Poland is making a bold pitch to Elon Musk: transform its 13th-century castle into his European headquarters.
Mayor Piotr Bujak revealed that he contacted Musk via letters to his companies and a post on X, Musk's social media platform. The proposal invites the tech mogul to consider the historic property for the hub of his operation on the continent.
Although no price has been set, Musk has yet to respond to the offer.
Bujak explained that reports in European media suggested Musk is seeking a grand European location, possibly a castle in Italy, for his ventures.
The Glogowek castle, steeped in history, dates back to the Middle Ages. It briefly served as Poland's capital in the 17th century and even hosted composer Ludwig van Beethoven, who wrote music there.
"The castle has a very good vibe and is a perfect location for great things," Bujak told The Associated Press.
Highlighting the town's winemaking heritage, Bujak added, "We do not feel worse than Tuscany. We have a perfect climate, and this is the best place on Earth."
The castle's strategic location puts it within reach of Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, and Warsaw. The property, owned by the town, has ample space for living and business purposes and room for a helicopter landing pad.
Though it needs extensive renovations, Bujak emphasized that the castle's potential is immense, and it awaits a private investor to restore its grandeur.
